Frequently asked questions
What are your rates/prices?
Lessons are $180. per month for half-hour once per week and $350 per month for hour-long lessons once per week. I do not charge extra for months with 5 weeks.
Because I do not charge extra when your lesson occurs in a month with 5 weeks I do not pro-rate (discount) November or December. If students take an extended summer vacation, I will pro-rate that month. No lessons on Thanksgiving and I take the last two weeks of December off. The months with 5 weeks throughout the year are charged as four-week months to account for this.

DO I NEED A GUITAR? WHAT KIND?
Yes you'll need a guitar in order to take lessons and practice with each day. The type of guitar really varies from student to student. I recommend nylon string guitars for young beginners as the strings are much more forgiving on the fingertips! Some people think it is necessary to start on an acoustic guitar however there is really no advantage to starting out on an acoustic. Electric guitars are actually a little bit easier to play as the strings tend to be a closer distance to the fret-board making it easier to press on the strings. Acoustic guitars are nice being that you can feel the sound against your body. Parents, you can tell students that if they apply themselves on the acoustic then an electric guitar would be the next step up. Adults having a difficult time deciding which kind of guitar to get for yourself electric or acoustic...?... my answer, get both ! : ) You can never have too many guitars!
